Story 5

My journey with Precious Lamb began in 2015. I had two children, Lovely and Derrion who attended the school. I came in contact with Precious Lamb through the drug and alcohol treatment center called Flossie Lewis here in Long Beach. The staff was so kind and loving. They loved all of my kids until I found the courage and strength to love them as I should. They welcomed me and my children with open arms. Precious Lamb has been a big part of my foundation and recovery. They taught me how to be a mom and more importantly, how to love myself. Words cannot express my love and gratitude to this school. It takes a special type of person to be a part of this place. I am so happy and honored to have formed long lasting friendships and sisterhood. My twins love this place so much too that they ask me all the time if they can go back to apply all the things that they learn. To this day, they still remember all the prayers that they did before they ate at Precious Lamb. My children have also formed their own special bonds with the teachers like Ms. Debbie who always goes out of her way to attend their baseball games. Mrs. Cricket, Ms. Tanesha and Ms. Keely always love on them when they see them and pray for them often. I currently work at a recovery Center which offers inpatient and outpatient services for individuals with alcohol and/or substance addiction. I also work part-time at Precious Lamb as the Substance Abuse Counselor Intern and in the kitchen once a week. My love for the school goes deep and I am so grateful for all they have done for my children and I. Thank you, Precious Lamb, for being a part of our life and a part of my recovery.
